Crazy Bowls!

President's & Captain's Day

President Thelma and Captain Mike welcomed members, friends and guests to the Club on Sunday 19 August for a day of fun raising funds for the Neonatal Unit at the Princess Royal Hospital. This cause is close to President Thelma's heart as her great-granddaughter Lily was cared for there after her premature birth.

All manner of ruses were used to extract cash from those present including craft and cake stalls, tombola, "lucky square" and an enormous raffle featuring numerous prizes generously donated by members, friends and local businesses.

Bowling was also on the agenda, but in place of our normal rinks a fiendish "crazy bowls" course was laid out in a similar manner to crazy golf, with obstacles to navigate and penalties imposed for displacing jacks or running into the ditch.

Great fun was had by all and £600 was raised.
