An overcast day with drizzle in the air greeted the players for the Matthews Salver Men's and Ladies' Plate drawn-pairs competition. Three ladies teams and four mens took part, playing round-robin format over games of six ends.
In the ladies competition the pairing of Ruth Lowe and Sheila Simcoe finished victorious, having recorded a win and a draw in their two matches. In the men's competition Quentin Smith and Rod Payne finished on top having won all three of their games.
