Torquay Tour - 2026
Following three great tours organised by Bill Greenway, Vice-Captain Mark Hussell stepped up and arranged a superb tour to Torquay. A party of bowlers from Lilleshall, St.Michael's BC, Guilsfield BC and Measham BC spent four nights away in Torquay, taking in five matches and having a great time.
Captain Sheila was a little kinder to losing rinks this year - no Mickey Mouse© ears - just small furry animals, but these still had to accompany the holder all times lest a fine became due. Top rinks once again received bags of sweeties (none for the webmaster this time).
We were transported in comfort by driver Tim from Blakes Coaches and enjoyed comfortable rooms and great food at the TLH Derwent Hotel.
New tourists, of which there were several, received the customary induction - being "invited" to accompany the Bard in singing the great Fred Wedlock song "The Vicar & the Frog" ... with actions!
Our results were a little disappointing, with Lilleshall only managing to win two of the five games.

Following the tour, Captain Sheila and Vice-Captain Mark decided to award the Cyril Davies Tour Trophy to Dominic Simcoe. Right from the first meeting up Dominic was first on the bus counting everyone in and first out to start help loading and unloading cases and bowls bags.
