Lilleshall's finals got underway on a murky and drizzly day. In the first matches Frank Hill recovered from a 4-12 deficit in the QRS Cup to beat Chris Doody by 21-15. In the pairs, Ruth Lowe and Rod Payne took and maintained the lead against Mike Caird and Quentin Smith and were leading 16-11 with four ends to play. However Mike and Quentin staged a late recovery and went into the last end 15-16 down and managed to take a two to win the match, despite never having been in the lead.
In the afternoon's matches Rod Payne recovered from 1-7 down in the Davies Cup (veterans' singles) to take a small lead and hung on, despite a spirited fight from Tony Forrester, to win 21-17. Mike Caird and Quentin Smith were in action again in the final of the Caird Cup. Mike took the first set 9-7 and Quentin the second 11-5 to force the tie-break, which Quentin won 2-0.
At the end of the afternoon the final match of the Lewis Cup drawn pairs competition was played, over 10 ends of "Aussie pairs", between Chris Doody & Frank Hill and Frances Hill & Quentin Smith. The lead changed several times before Frances and Quentin scored a 2 in the penultimate end to take a four shot lead, which they consolidated with a 5 on the last end to win 15-6.
