News 2020 and 2021
Sunny weather greeted the members who turned out for the Captain's and President's charity day. A raffle, tombola, lucky square and loads of yummy cakes were available to part members from their cash.
President Don Cartwright welcomed everyone and explained that he and Captain Sheila had chosen the Lingen Davies Cancer Fund as their charity and outlined the fantastic work they do. A spider was held, won by Deb Sherriff, then teams were drawn at random and the match between the President's and the Captain's teams began. A lot of fun was had, a lot of good bowls delivered (and a few wayward ones) and in the end President Don's team emerged victorious by 56 - 35.
Bill Greenway won the cupcake competition with some exceptionally rich chocolate confections and at the end of the day over £230 was raised.
