Only twelve members were available for the men's and ladies' drawn pairs competitions, but that did not deter everyone from having an enjoyable afternoon.

With only four ladies playing the competition secretary arranged a round robin such that each lady played both with and against the others, keeping individual scores. The gentlemen, meanwhile, were drawn into four pairs that played a standard round-robin league. Both competitions consisted of three rounds of six ends of 3-bowl pairs.

In the ladies competition the outstanding player was Kath Matthews, who won all three games. The other three ladies were all tied on points, so shot difference was taken into account, which gave Ruth Lowe the second position by just two shots.

In the mens competition one game in the final round of matches became the de-facto final, pitching the two unbeaten teams of Howard Paul & Quentin Smith (2 wins) and Mike Caird & Rob Attwood (1 win, 1 draw) against one another. A draw would have been sufficient for Howard and Quentin, but Mike and Rob needed a win. After four ends the scores were tied but in end five Mike and Rob scored a crucial three to which Howard and Quentin could only reply with a single on the last end. Previous results.
