Six ladies contested the Ladies Plate competition on a warm and sunny afternoon. The format was 3-wood pairs and the 3 pairs each played the other 2 in a round robin format.
After two rounds, one team had lost to both the other pairs, who were then left to contest the final game to determine the winners.
Going into this game, Sylvia Newbery and Sheila Payne had a shot difference of +8, whilst Kath Matthews and Liz Caird were on +11. Therefore a draw would be sufficient for Kath and Liz whereas Sylvia and Sheila needed to win, which they did comfortably by 10 shots to 2 over the 8 ends played.
It was lovely to see half a dozen other past and present members at the green to watch the play and support the ladies.
