With several club competition matches being played at the same time only eight members were available to contest the National Sports Centre Cup 2-wood drawn pairs competition. The four pairs played each other in a round-robin format of 10-ends per game.
After two rounds only one team - new member Mitzi Harvey and seasoned campaigner Quentin Smith was unbeaten. They only needed a draw in their their third game to secure victory, but a loss could have put them at risk from the next pair - Mitzi's husband Alan and Peter Hancock if they recorded a good win. Peter and Alan did win, but Mitzi and Quentin managed a draw in their game, picking up a single on the last end.
The trophy was presented by Club Secretary Liz Caird and the afternoon was arranged by Competition Secretary (and Club Treasurer) Mike Caird.
