Lilleshall into Vernon Turner Semi-finals (June 2025)
Lilleshall men made it through to the semi-finals of the Worcestershire BA Vernon Turner 4-rinks competition with a nail-biting extra-end win over St.Dunstan's.
The game, hosted by Gilt Edge BC, finished all square. A draw decided who would play the extra end and it was Rod Payne's rink who were chosen. Shot down with just his last bowl in hand Rod found a brilliant "skip's bowl" to draw the shot, leaving his opponent with one to play. He was unable to change the position, resulting in a single shot win for Lilleshall and earning them a semi-final match against Vines Park BC, who received a walk-over from Bredon.
This is a great result for Lilleshall as it is quite a few years since we were able to put out a team of 16 players to take part in this competition.
